What Daddy forgot to post...

Last night on another one of her adventures, she conquered Mt. Daddy! Jeremy was laying on the floor and Sydney decided she didn't want to go around daddy anymore, she would just go right over him! She first stood up, using him for balance and then dove right over him and landed on the other side of the floor. It was too funny!! She is, as Geisinger would say, redefining boundaries!

And So It Begins....

We have now ventured into more challenging times of parenting where we must watch Sydney on a constant basis. Two days ago, Sydney was crawling back and forth between the living room and the dining room through our foyer. Now I think most of you know the rough layout of our house, but in case you don't..... our staircase is in the foyer. I probably don't even need to say anymore.

Needless to say, I was watching TV and keep one eye on Sydney. Well, I obviously am blind in one eye and can't see out of the other. Before you know it, I look into the foyer and see Sydney crawling up the stairs (when I caught her, she was on the 2nd step)! This pretty much gave me the biggest scare of my life. I gasped and ran over to scoop her into my arms before she went any further. All I have to say is.... uh-oh. We've got a climber on our hands!

What a Kid!

Everyone we run into always says how gorgeous Sydney is, and for the most part we agree. The only problem is that you all do not get to see the same Sydney that we see on a daily basis. I'd say that 95% of the time she is a perfect little angel. It's that other 5% that makes you wonder whose child she is. We still love her anyway. Here are a few pics of Sydney in that other percent of the time that nobody else gets to see.

Sydney obviously loves herself..... a lot. That's an open-mouthed kiss.

Here's a look into Sydney's serious obsession with pillows.... we've been replaced.

Okay, so we didn't want to scare you all, but... here she is! Don't turn out the light! She might get you. (By the way, Sydney had a little help from Mom on the costume)

9 Month Check-up

So, there's a game we play with Sydney where we say "How big is Sydney?" and she puts her hands over her head. Then we say, "SO BIG!" Well,....the truth of the matter is that Sydney is SO BIG. We had her 9-month check-up yesterday and Sydney is a big baby. She is 31 inches long (above the 95th percentile) and 20 lbs 14.5 oz. At this rate, I think we're going to have a girl that towers over all the boys..... which is fine by me. Maybe that'll be enough to scare them all off until her 30th birthday.

Anyways, with Sydney growing so fast we only have one more inch until she outgrows her car seat. Yippee!!! That means I get to install a different car seat into the minivan. -- There goes another hour or two of my life. I swear... car seat manufacturers deliberately design their products to be as difficult as possible to install. We even bought a larger baby seat so we wouldn't have to worry about her outgrowing it too quickly. So much for that idea.

On a slightly different note, we have never had a problem trying to feed Sydney baby food. Even when she'd make sour faces at the food we were feeding her, you could count on her having her mouth open right away for the next bite where she'd make the same face all over again. Not anymore! We just switched to 3rd foods that have chunks. She is not a big fan. Sydney actually turns her head and pushes the food away. I'm not too concerned.... I will prevail! Keep trying and trying and trying until success!

Well, I should get going. I hope you enjoyed the latest update on Sydney!
